Ferret (Mustela putorius furo)

Our laboratory has used the ferret for over 25 years for research on emesis. They are excellent model with gut anatomy and physiology, as well as genomics closer to humans compared with smaller mammals like rodents. They are the gold standard laboratory animal for studies on the emetic reflex. We use them for our projects related to drug testing on emesis and motion sickness, etc.
